| Mac Wall, Oklahoma
public TV executive, named to head KET (3/6/2003) KET's governing board--the Kentucky Authority for Educational Television--today named Malcolm (Mac) Wall as the new KET CEO and executive director effective June 1, 2003. The selection was the result of a national search conducted by Ron Bornstein & Associates of Tucson, Ariz., following the December retirement of former CEO Virginia G. Fox. Wall currently serves as executive director of Oklahoma Educational Television Authority, a post he has held since January 1999. Before that, Wall served as associate executive director for the statewide Oklahoma network from 1995-99 and has held executive and senior management positions at public broadcasting stations in Florida, Louisiana and Mississippi. In addition, Wall was director of network programming for the Southern Educational Communications Association, now NETA, a national public TV association headquartered in Columbia, S.C. "Mac Wall has a rare combination of traits," said KET Authority Chairman John Domaschko, in making the announcement. "He has the skills and knowledge that are developed over a 33-year career in public television while possessing the level of enthusiasm and energy for his craft that one might see in someone new to the field. He has a deep appreciation for the quality of KET's people and programs. He knows that KET distinguishes itself by its laser-like focus on its mission. His leadership skills, visionary capabilities and appreciation for what the state and the world expect from KET will enable us to continue to lead the industry in identifying and reaching the next right steps. The legacy of Len Press and Ginni Fox is in good hands with Mac Wall." "KET represents one of the extraordinary assets in the public broadcasting industry," said Wall. " Its leadership has been legendary over its near 35-year history. I am honored to be asked to serve as KET enters the new and exciting era of digital services to the classrooms, students and teachers of the Commonwealth, as well as the arts and public affairs communities." Wall has a marketing degree from Mississippi State
University (1970) and is married with two children. He is a former commissioned officer
with the National Guard. |
